About
My Trivia Factory game had its origins on the Games Galore and More website, a website run by and for the blind. In 2016, I was asked to host a trivia game. I chose the name Trivia Factory because I felt it suggested formulating clues by mining nuggets of information from various sources-from raw material, as it were. This material is verified, streamlined, and compiled into clues that meet the requirements of the Who, What, Where, and When format. I had not originally planned to turn this game into a book. The idea for doing that came years later, when I was trying to come up with a project to follow my autobiographical book, Across Two Novembers, and its abridgement. It occurred to me that I could compile many of the trivia clues I had accumulated into a fun yet educational book, one that might also be used as a springboard for those hosting pub trivia nights. You may wonder why I would even bother, given all the trivia–based books already out there. I decided to "bother" because I really enjoy trivia, and I think my approach is lighter, more conversational than most, and easily adapted to competition play. I also simply wanted to put in my two cents worth. Who doesn't like trivia? There always seems to be room for more. I hope this book will challenge and entertain you. With it, you'll be set for pub contests, family gatherings, a long car ride, or any event that needs an injection of friendly competition. You can burn through these pages by yourself, create a more structured experience for a group, or create your own game. So enjoy, and learn a little as well!
