This is a book that lowers the threshold for entering the Quranic text. It does not require the reader to have prior knowledge, but offers simple solutions for understanding it. Instead of difficult discussions and dense footnotes, the author chooses a clear word order, a calm tone and short definitions. The idea is simple: how to read the Quran meaningfully, without fear of concepts and without the feeling that you are always one step behind. Šahinović explains the basic concepts and logic of the text. Without rushing, he puts each concept in its place, showing how it is connected to other concepts and how this relationship changes our understanding of the verse. In doing so, he combines classical interpretations with current questions for today's reader. How to read in the rhythm of everyday life? How to recognize the theme, context, intention? How to distinguish what is constant from what is changeable? The result is a guide that does not tire, but provides measure and direction. The great value of the book is its style, whose sentences are clean. The examples are down-to-earth and familiar: family, work, doubts, gratitude. Instead of grand gestures, the author offers quiet tools. It suggests how to start, how to persevere, how to read less and understand more. This approach benefits beginners, as well as those who have been in the faith for a long time and are looking for a clearer framework. It will serve as a basic road map for teachers and group leaders. It will be a companion that does not lecture for independent readers. The book does not aim to be a tafsir in the full sense of the word. It does not delve deeply into philological debates or long historical disagreements. That is precisely why it is useful as a first layer. It lays the foundation, so that those who wish can later reach for more specialized works. The reader gets a sense of structure: what is essential, what is auxiliary, what can be applied immediately in life, and what needs further research. The best pages are those where a key concept opens up to practice. Then the text becomes very concrete. The reader sees how the meaning of the verse enters into habits: into the way we speak, plan our day, resolve conflicts, and calm our hearts. In these moments, the book shows why it is important: not because it offers ready-made recipes, but because it teaches us how to read carefully and humbly. "Towards Understanding the Quran" is a useful and moderate read. It can be read during Ramadan, but also in the middle of the most ordinary week. It offers answers to young people, new readers, parents, teachers, but also to all who want to understand before they fall into the trap of prejudice. If you are looking for a safe introduction, a map and a compass, you will find them here. And when you close the cover, you will be left with the most valuable thing: the habit of stopping, reading slowly and wondering what the text of the Quran is saying to you here today.
