When Toby gets distracted during a tour in Washington, D.C., Leo the paintbrush teaches him about the importance of learning about our country and respecting all countries. Together, Toby and Leo learn about what makes different countries special and how you can celebrate your own country and honor those who protect it. Additional features to aid comprehension include a table of contents, a section on using respectful words, a S.T.E.A.M. activity, a phonetic glossary, sources for further research including web sites, an index, and an introduction to the author. It's time to brush up on respect! Take readers on a journey with a lively cast of characters as they learn about respect and why it's important to respect parents, peers, the environment, and more! Engaging sidebars illuminate concepts and promote further discussion, while 'Respectful Talk' sentence starters and STEAM activities encourage students to explore respect in the classroom and at home.
