Tongue Cancer and I

It was Tuesday, 6th September 2016.

As I waited to meet the doctor, I took a silent deep breath. I tried to be calm.
'We have your biopsy results and I'm afraid it's not good news. You have Squamous cell carcinoma.'
The news hit me like a sledgehammer.
I had cancer.
