Tiny Yet Mighty: Little Champion Big Hope is a tender, faith-filled children's picture book inspired by the courage of a premature baby and the families who walk through the NICU journey with hope.
Told through the gentle voice of Lovena-Bele, a tiny preemie born at 26 weeks and weighing only 0.69 kg, this heartfelt story follows her first brave days in the world. From the warmth of her "Bubble Home" to the steady sounds of Beep-Beep Buddy, from Mr. Puff helping her breathe to Little Straw helping her grow, each page turns the NICU into a place children and families can understand with comfort instead of fear.
This story honors every small milestone that feels enormous in the life of a preemie: the first touch from Mommy and Daddy, the first ounce gained, the first kangaroo cuddle, the first bottle, the day the machines become less needed, the first tiny outfit, the joyful NICU graduation, and finally, the unforgettable walk through the NICU doors toward home.
Written by Stacy-Ann Burnett-Brissett, a neonatal nurse, Tiny Yet Mighty brings compassion, warmth, and lived NICU experience to a story that celebrates medical care, parental love, prayer, and resilience. It reminds families that progress can come in tiny steps, that hope can live in hospital rooms, and that even the smallest beginnings can carry extraordinary strength.
Perfect for NICU parents, preemie families, neonatal nurses, grandparents, baby shower gifts, hospital libraries, children's ministries, and anyone looking for an inspirational book about faith, miracles, and courage, this book offers both comfort and celebration. Its warm storytelling, glossary, and activity section help children understand words like NICU, incubator, kangaroo care, preemie, and feeding tube in a gentle, age-friendly way.
More than a children's story, Tiny Yet Mighty is a love letter to every tiny fighter, every waiting parent, and every caregiver who stands beside a baby's bedside with steady hands and a hopeful heart. It is a reminder that strength is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like one breath, one ounce, one tiny hand reaching back.
For every family still waiting, every baby still growing, and every miracle still unfolding, this book whispers the message at the heart of Lovena-Bele's journey:
With soft language and emotionally rich scenes, the book can be read as a bedtime story, a keepsake for a NICU memory box, or a gentle conversation starter for siblings trying to understand why a new baby needs care. The tone is reassuring, never frightening, and the medical moments are softened through loving names for machines and helpers, making a difficult experience feel more approachable for readers.
The cover's glowing heart, purple night sky, tiny footprints, and baby imagery reflect the heart of the story: a small child surrounded by love, science, prayer, family, and care. Each page encourages readers notice the victories that may seem small to the world but mean everything to a family in the NICU.
You are not alone. You are stronger than you look. Your story is just beginning.
