"Fresh and irreverent, funny and relatable, "This Shit Works" is a must read for anyone who's ever died a little inside as they entered a room wearing a name tag." -Terri Trespicio, writer, speaker, and brand advisor "There's a true gift in these pages to transform how you approach networking. Julie Brown gives you the tools to be yourself and create your power network." - Paula Rizzo, Author Listful Living, media consultant, speaker The people you meet can change your life like nothing else. Networking is how you meet those people. Not the trading business cards and asking "What do you do?" kind of networking-the kind where you make the most extraordinary connections simply by being yourself and doing things you enjoy. (And, OK, with a tiny bit of homework and a smidge of strategy.) In this refreshingly entertaining and highly informative guide, Julie Brown shares her proven process for building a network. And not just any network, but one made of people who: • are happy to refer you to new clients • will take your phone call at any hour of the day or night • may even just end up going bungee jumping with you in South Africa. Filled with honest stories, perhaps more than the occasional swear word, proven strategies, and targeted to-do lists, This Shit Works is a salty, modern version of How to Win Friends and Influence People.
