Life couldn't be any better for Beatrice Adams. She's finally made a name for herself away from the influence of her famous parents; she's going steady with Patrick Hollister, one of Hollywood's hottest producers; and her detective business is booming.
But what goes up must come down.
When Harry Riley phones Beatrice with the news he's been arrested for murder, Beatrice takes the case with her usual gusto. But what she assumes will be an easy win soon becomes a case fraught with danger. Harry has no memory of the events leading up to poor Larry Martin's murder, so it's up to Beatrice to piece together his missing time. Mysterious warnings and tommy-gun-toting mobsters are the least of her worries. As Beatrice digs deeper into Harry's movements, something sinister blooms in the darkest corners of Hollywood, and it's coming right at her.
Can Beatrice track down the real murderer before Harry faces the electric chair? Or will the dark heart of Hollywood consume her?
