What if selling your soul was not a metaphor but a legally binding contract?
Inside a historic Southern theater turned bar, a sharp-tongued lawyer launches a gimmick to bring in customers. A free beer in exchange for your soul. Finger pricks. Blood signatures. A joke meant for laughs-until the dead actually show up to collect.
Soon, ghosts roam the theater, becoming crime-stoppers, protecting the property, solving their own murders, and exposing corruption that reaches far beyond the grave. What begins as a supernatural comedy quickly becomes a darkly satirical exploration of power, consequence, and bureaucracy that does not end with death.
Set against a Southern Gothic backdrop of music, poker games, haunted Americana, and ancient folklore, The Trained Ghost Gimmick blends supernatural fiction, dark fantasy, and irreverent humor into a genre-bending story unlike anything else on the shelf. Ghosts are not just haunting the place. They are running it.
But not everyone is amused. An ancient Choctaw boogieman, bound to the land and furious over stolen souls, begins to collect his debt. The joke is over. The stakes are real. Every deal comes with fine print no one bothered to read.
This is not a gentle ghost story.
It is not clean fantasy.
It is not written to play it safe.
The Trained Ghost Gimmick is a bold, darkly comic supernatural novel for readers who enjoy paranormal fiction for adults, dark humor, supernatural satire, Southern Gothic atmosphere, and stories that are strange, sharp, and unapologetically original.
If you enjoy supernatural fiction novels, dark fantasy rooted in folklore, paranormal stories with humor, and cult-style books that challenge convention, this story will stay with you long after the last page.
Read it. Just read the fine print first.
