About
"The Thorniest Roses" might sound like the title of a romance novel and although romance does feature prominently throughout it there is no doubt that it should not be described in that way. The book is the result of many sit down, drink and talk sessions with a man who prefers to remain a nameless mystery, probably because of the content of the many varied recollections that were relayed with great emotion and detail to the author.
To say that the man has been very unlucky in love would be a massive understatement and it is very easy to make judgements about his lifestyle but judgement really does need to be reserved until the very end as jumping to early conclusions will seem more and more of a mistake as the various recollections unfold and eventually the opposite of any premature conclusions actually seems to be much more likely as each chapter takes the reader through a rollercoaster of emotions ranging from laughter, to tears, to anger, to disbelief. Always with the nagging feeling that each recollection will not end well but with the eternal hope that maybe, just maybe, this time things will have a happy ending.
