The stories in this collection feature ship's steward Felix Jenks and were originally written for magazine publication. The first eight were included in the book The Steward, published by William Collins, Sons & Co., London, in 1932. The present PGA/RGL edition includes an extra story, "Blooming Aloes," that, so far as is known, did not appear in any collection published during Edgar Wallace's lifetime.
