Clean energy. Dirty politics. One reporter who won't stop asking questions. The Solar Deception is a sequel to The Power of Rain, which introduced readers to Elizabeth "Digger" Doyle, a young investigative reporter who earned her nickname by exposing the shady secrets of politicians in the fictional Southwest city of Las Vistas. A routine press conference shouldn't feel dangerous - but Digger Doyle knows when something doesn't add up. Working for the New Mexico state government, Digger suspects a much-hyped solar project hides more than clean energy. Following a trail of money and deception from Chaco Canyon to the halls of Santa Fe power, she uncovers a conspiracy designed to destroy a man's political career. Meanwhile, powerful enemies target her wife's campaign for the state legislature. Digger must decide how far she's willing to go for the truth - and who will pay the price when it comes out. The stakes are high as Digger finds herself and her wife caught in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, where her personal life becomes entangled in a web of political vendettas. Set in the Southwest, The Sunshine Solution is a fast-paced mystery featuring a lesbian amateur sleuth who refuses to let a secret stay buried.
