A reimagined approach to owning and running a law firm
You built your law firm to serve clients and make a difference, not to be buried in stalled cases, late nights, and last-minute emergencies while the numbers stubbornly refuse to add up. The challenge is that most firms still run on an outdated, top-down model that puts all the weight on the owner, fuels burnout, and slows everything down.
Thriving and innovative firm owner Simone Fulmer Gaus shares the simple, proven framework she developed to reinvent her practice-replacing the owner-heavy hierarchy with a modern, self-managing approach built on purpose, shared values, and genuine respect for the people who make the firm run. The Set-Up guides you through five interconnected pillars-People, Pipeline, Process, Product, and Profitability-so you can
• build a team that's aligned, accountable, and invested in the firm's success;
• create systems that keep cases moving and cash flowing;
• shift from reactive firefighting to confident, intentional leadership; and
• know how to tackle challenges in every part of your firm.
With humor, candor, and relatable stories from daily law firm life, Fulmer Gaus shares examples every owner will recognize-from the overworked assistant to the bright-eyed paralegal to the grateful client-along with practical tools like workflow tracking and cash flow management you can put to work right away.
Simone Fulmer Gaus proves that firms don't have to run on chaos, lose money, or leave owners exhausted. The Set-Up helps you build a firm that sustains itself-and in the process, sustains you.
