This collection of short stories was inspired by my fascination with true crime, and a desire to understand how the criminal mind works. This began as a self-assigned project to learn the art of writing horror, and while I was unable to stop myself from making some of them funnier than others, I hope that you, the reader, will find them appropriately unsettling. The following selections may make you laugh, may make you gasp, or may make you think that this character reminds you of someone you know. If so, get out now. Night Moves - A random encounter at a local bar quickly becomes more than either party bargained for. Rock Steady - The caretaker of a local men's shelter contemplates his next job assignment. One Way or Another - A rich man in search of the perfect woman finds more trouble than love. Fame - In the world of theater, if you're not on top, you're on the bottom. Friend of the Devil - Five college students on a camping trip find out how far you have to go before no one can hear you scream. Light My Fire - House flipping and insurance fraud - it's a good gig if you can get it. Dancing in the Dark - When a radio station hosts a contest to stay in a haunted asylum, the odds won't be in everyone's favor. Piano Man - Being a drug mule isn't rocket science, but being smarter than an actual mule would help. Mother's Little Helper - If you thought your mother-in-law was bad, you haven't met Linda.
