About

Hidden behind a quiet roadside, half a kilometre into the open fields, stands a small wooden house surrounded by farms and silence. Once ignored by travellers and distant from the village colonies, the lonely hut has guarded decades of untold secrets. Its windows remain dusty, its door stiff, and its silence strangely alive as if the house itself remembers. When two travelling writers, Daani and Harleen step inside during their journey, they expect nothing more than an abandoned shelter. Instead, they uncover the life of a 42-year-old woman who chose to live away from the village… a woman who preferred solitude over society. She lived with only her loving cat, Gogo a gentle goat, and its two to four playful kids her tiny family in the middle of the fields. She rarely visited the village. At night, she walked alone to the faraway well to fetch water. She grew her own vegetables in the field yard, surviving quietly on what nature gave her.But behind this peaceful isolation lies a past stitched with fear, heartbreak, and a truth she never shared with another soul.As Daani and Harleen begin documenting her world, they find fragments of a life shaped by betrayal and silence scribbled notes, forgotten belongings, and the lingering presence of a woman who hid more pain than anyone ever imagined. And then… strange things begin to happen.Shadows move where no one walks.Doors shift without reason.Footsteps echo in the empty hallway. And the old woman's presence feels close watching, guiding, or warning them. What begins as a simple exploration turns into a haunting journey into someone else's loneliness… and their own. The roadside farmhouse, once silent and forgotten, becomes a voice demanding to be heard. And the truth it reveals is far more unsettling than the quiet that protected it for so long.--- Daani Chauhan is an aspiring student from the peaceful town of Karnah, Kupwara, in Jammu & Kashmir.
