The Red Year

This is a fictional account of the Indian Mutiny, of 1857. The Indian Mutiny referred to the mutiny of the Indian army troops who were really in the John Company, or the British East India Company. There were comparatively small numbers of British and other non-Indian, including the Gurkas troops in India, in the country as well. It is well written book done about a half century after the real event. The author does a good job of developing characters to bring the story to life. His hero is a Lt. Frank Malcolm in a Indian regiment, and his love interest is a Miss Mayne.
