Extremely relevant in Trump 2.0. Written years ago author TF Kelley foresaw the single political Party, the senate giving up its check and balance, camps in hot deserts, the many dead, and the insatiable power- and money-hungry demons - billionaires who ate the world and now turn within to devour all that 'Merica has left. The Red Boat is about the rich and powerful. Where will they draw the line? Who will stop these insatiable men and women? The Red Boat is dedicated to the have-nots. This humorous, apocalyptic, dystopian tale of generational change tells of living in President Triumph's present-day 'Merica. Compare Frye's youthful visits to Grandparents in Red Wing in 1966. There was innocence in commerce and people strove to be virtuous back then. But those days are done. It is the age of one powerful party, of homelessness, hopelessness, and assassination. Life is cheap. Frye Wilkins was born not with a silver, but a golden. His f'n father Frank embezzled gold and Frye went to university and law school on this golden dime. He successfully created an air ambulance company transporting the sick and injured worldwide during Covid-19 and the deadly viral apocalypse. Frye with his lover and co-pilot Sander land their air ambulance Learjet in deepest, darkest Africa. They are in search of a mystical hallucinogenic aphrodisiac. Foundthey name it SofCart. Will Frye and Sander's discovery impact the world? Yes - in unbelievable ways.Hero have-not Arvid Stansbury wakes up one lazy, hazy Arizona morning - out of smokes. Thinkinghow is it that I ain't got no money for smokes while the world's richest man JJ Bolton of Amazingdotscom makes $77,000 with every breath he takes? It ain't fair! Arvid grows scatter-furious! No smokes...bigly creepy feeling. Later, Arvid and his girl, the very lovely KT Rich-Mankiller leave their meth-rich environment in Apache Junction, Arizona, with 'Merica and Triumph flags flowing in the bed of their pickup truck. Retribution for want - their meth-drenched, scatter-furious plan is to hunt down and kill JJ Bolton in LA. That is, until a related flamboyant character disrupts their plan. Meanwhile, Frye becomes rich and grows powerful in the Party, our Red Party. Frye sells SofCart to Bolton for $240,000 each. Ya know, all the rich f'n bastards have to have it all to themselves. They never share. Then, the naturally limited supply of precious SofCart erupts in a life-and-death power struggle between Frye, Bolton, and President Triumph. For highly personal reasons, this time, Bolton shares, teases, and later withholds SofCart from President Triumph. Not a great choice with the world's most powerful a-hole. After all, at 74 with SofCart he could once again get a stiff dick. How could President Triumph truly 'love his people' living for years with erectile dysfunction? The Red Boat is a first novel and newly released.
