SOME SECRETS ARE BETTER LEFT BURIED... Beau Winters is on the brink. A writer who can't write, trapped in a life that isn't her own. After a bitter divorce, she dunks down with her best friends Hannah and Joe, but their toxic relationship and chaotic lifestyle are driving her to the edge. With a looming publisher deadline and crippling writer's block, Beau is desperate for a change.
Then, a chance email offers an unexpected escape: Bluebell Cottage, a secluded haven in the wilds of Scotland with its own private beach and church ruin. Quaint, cosy, and perfect for a lone writer in need of solitude. No distractions-except for the sinister creak of an empty rocking chair. No noise-aside from an old record player that plays spontaneously. No company-apart from the unseen presence lurking in the attic. As Beau battles her growing unease, paranoia and isolation, she wonders whether she has made a disastrous mistake.
Meanwhile, down in Chester, Hannah is seething. She offers Beau a shoulder to cry on, a room in their house, meals at their table, and now she disappears off into the sunset without a word of thanks? What Beau doesn't understand is that Hannah has scars - festering wounds that will force her to hunt Beau down and make her understand just how deep they run. And Beau had better be ready, because she has no idea what her best friend is capable of, and she has no idea of the darkness that lies hidden in Hannah's past.
In a chilling clash of friendship, betrayal, and hidden horrors, Beau is about to discover that some secrets are better left buried, and some houses are better left alone. ...AND SOME HOUSES ARE BETTER LEFT ALONE
