Haviland North, Viscount Amersham, has finally won six months of freedom to embark on a Grand Tour. But it has come at a great cost: afterwards, he must return home and marry the bride that has been chosen for him.
Until then, Haviland intends to pursue the art of fencing, making his way to Paris for the sole purpose of proving his skill with the blade under the tutelage of the famed Parisian swordsman Antoine Leodegrance.
Alyssandra Leodegrance is a woman with secrets. After Antoine's accident, she has been masquerading as her brother in a ruse to keep their successful salle d'armes running.
But when she sees the skilled fencer and English lord Haviland North, she can't resist becoming both his tutor...and his lover.
For how long can Alyssandra keep up the deception? Will Haviland have the courage to go after the woman he wants and change his fate?
