All of the owls are fancy and thin. All of them accept the owl at the end. She is fluffy and fat and her feathers stick out in every which way. She’s so different from all of the other owls that they won’t let her play with them. If she’s going to fit in with all of her fellows, she’s going to have to change to be more like them.
With a little help, Raggedy Owl smooths all of her feathers and sucks her belly in tight. But when she looks at her reflection, she realizes it isn’t right. She’s not prim and proper, she’s fun and funky. She’d rather be herself than fit in with all of the others. And something amazing happens when she tells them so.
