About

Do up, sell up, move on. That's Ellie's project. But maybe Peggleford has other plans for her.

Inheriting run-down Dunes Cottage in Peggleford on the Norfolk coast couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time for Ellie Peterson. Desperate to get her science career back on track, she can't afford to waste time or money she doesn't have on the restoration. Except the cottage comes with some charismatic livestock, a cute beach hut, a shedload of problems (with probably more in the outbuildings), threatening letters from the council, and a tug on her heartstrings.

Martin Harrington, the helpful solicitor, and James Anderton, her famous neighbour and one-time teenage crush, are making it easier to live there and much harder to leave. Her new friends in Peggleford gradually weave themselves into Ellie's life and provide vital support in her fight against those who would thwart her plans, encountering an adversary even more threatening than the local council, fickle Mother Nature. But Ellie's also keeping a secret that could jeopardise the one friendship that is growing increasingly important to her. Will a charity raffle at The Hope and Anchor pub change everything?

The Project is Fiona Cooper's prize-winning romantic comedy set in sleepy Peggleford. If you like funny, feisty heroines and friends-to-lovers romances, then you'll love this witty debut novel.
