Texts relating to industries are generally descriptive of the industry that is the subject. Industries can be divided into primary industries, manufacturing industries, secondary industries, tertiary industries and service industries. Industries developed particularly quickly during the industrial revolution, displacing the arrangements that existed in mercantile and feudal economies, and benefitted from the increasing speed of technological innovation.
