Charles Rough's latest work of fiction rewards the reader with three unforgettable stories by a master storyteller. The Man Who Fell from the Sky is a story about Joseph, a man on the run from his past and Nell, a young woman determined to keep a vow she made to herself. As strangers, they find themselves thrown together seemingly by accident; when Nell forces Joseph to help her comfort a man who just fell from a high rise and is barely clinging to life. What the injured man confides to Joseph unlocks for Joseph an unfulfilled dream from childhood, and his relationship with Nell takes a surprising turn, forcing him to confront the loss and pain he caused. Meteor Man is about a man in the twilight of his years who witnesses a meteorite suddenly appear in the night sky. What follows is the journey the father and his oldest son takes to find evidence of the meteorite, their surprising arduous search in the rugged terrain of a canyon, and what they learn about themselves and each other. The Path of Totality, is a story about a former Texas Ranger, Noah, who with Lilly's recent letter burning a hole in his heart, is desperately trying to get back to her before it's too late. Guilt-ridden over putting off their marriage and leaving her to join the Gold Rush, Noah encounters one situation after another when trying to return home to Lilly in time.
