We as human beings are the climax of a 13.8-billion-year overture. It extends from the "Big Bang" until now. Through the experience of bereavement, a powerful correlation is developed in this book between the Science of this process and the Bible. God was there already, before "the beginning." Then He said, "Let it be!" and there it was. How did we get here from there and where are we going?
Do you ever wonder how the universe began?Do you think science and faith can be reconciled?Do you feel left behind since a loved one went on ahead?Do you hope to find solace in something more? Do you ever wonder why God should care about you?
In The Ones Left Behind, Michael explores an all-or-nothing boundary between faith and doubt, reconciling scientific fact with Biblical truth. He tackles common misconceptions and questions over such things as Creation and the Big Bang, how we are made in the image of God - from atoms.
For those who've lost a loved one it happens again every morning. Together for nearly 50 years, Michael's wife passed away ahead of him. He became 'the one left behind.'
Cancer challenged their faith. Her passing challenged his still further, but Jesus came ever closer. The cancer died, but Charmaine lives.
The book doesn't claim to have all the right answers but seeks to address some of the right questions, those that many of us have.
It aims to provide support and understanding for those navigating the complexities of faith and science in a context of personal loss. It's not for everyone. But, feeling left behind when everyone has gone home, it may help.
