A wild rollercoaster ride through school, the Multiverse, and finding yourself, over and over and over again… It's the last day of school, and Amber bunks off to go partying with a raggle-taggle group of friends: the geeks, the queer kids, the school dropouts. But even in this group, it can be a struggle to fit in. Accidentally stumbling through a portal that launches them across the Multiverse, Amber embarks on a journey that will force them to question who they are and who they want to become. As they tumble through time and space, will they finally find somewhere they belong? Lewis Hetherington's play The Multiverse is Gay! was first performed at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, in a production by the Lyceum Young Company. The Nick Hern Books Multiplay Drama series features large-cast plays specifically written to be performed by and appeal to older teenagers and young adults.
"'A multiverse-hopping extravaganza that, whilst bright, colourful and forward-thinking still retains a sensitivity and intelligence outside of the camp, kitsch and humorous'"
Corr Blimey
"'A universal story of an adolescent struggling to fit in and feel at home in the world and in their own skin, but told through a sci-fi plot that works pretty well and with plenty of humour'"
