One of the most startling and powerful characters of all the Old Testament Hebrew prophets is Elijah the Tishbite. This is yet another publication of his hiblical narrative, yet it is written from an absolutely unique perspective.
A mighty far-seeing prophet does not just happen, he/she is built. These pages are all about how the Tishbites paradigm and world-view was built, and even how to emulate the great influencer.
The man from Tishhe bursts onto the Biblical stage, like a flash of light. He mmakes an amazing mind-boggling brief prophetic statement, and then disappears for three and a half years with that thirty second declaration hanging in the ether and sky, dominating the entire Levant under its power for all that time.
He appears full grown and assumes a responsibility that truly belongs to God alone. Keith Lannon searches for the spiritual education and experiential curriculum that builds a child from wherever Tishbe is or was into a climate defying, legalism destroying, man of God immersed in power and authority that had never been seen before.
Examine the authors conclusions as to the how and why Elijah became the nation changing, God pursuing, wild, giant, dangerous prophet that he was.
Elijah was a never to be matched benchmark of the definitive man of God.
This book is not for those seeking easy comfort. Not at all for the squeamish either, or those shy of really going somewhere with God, "The man from Tishbe" might scare you, nourish you, or elevate you even. That will all be up to the reader. You will clearly not be the same once you have sampled the chapter entitled "One way ticket to Tishbe please"
Destined to be seen as a classic, this hook will indeed, take you beyond yourself. Don't say we didn't warn you.
