The War of Memory Cycle is the product of a lifetime of worldbuilding. Conflict brews in a land torn between the expansionist Risen Phoenix Empire and the so-called Dark cults that would resist it. For those who have long sought to end the existence and influence of the spirits, a reckoning approaches -- for these spirits and their people, though downtrodden, have tricks yet to pull. When a young slave-soldier of the Empire becomes an unwilling vessel for one such spirit, chaos ensues as all sides scramble for control of him and his strange passenger. Skinchangers, necromancers, soldiers, wraiths, and even gods will be drawn into the struggle, which threatens to shatter the Imperial lands irrevocably.
