"Do you have a preference for pink or yellow lemonade? The kids in this story do and they want to prove that people prefer their kind. They set up competing lemonade stands and keep track of what is sold. Then they start adding extras to make their color more attractive--and the contest heats up. Will free cookies do the trick or will popsicles have more appeal? The math lesson runs along with the text and pretty soon five cups has escalated to twenty two and then it reaches a new high of thirty-four. Both teams are tied--how will it all end? Mr. Lee is the last customer, and he comes up with a creative solution and everyone seems happy. There is an addition activity at the end and a very brief glossary defining four math terms. Four books are referenced in the To Learn More Section and FactHound offers child friendly web sites. Part of the Math "Read-It! Readers," this is an Orange Level title."
