An archaeologist, a dragoman with a claim to pharaonic descent, and a tomb that has not been robbed. Baum wrote it as an adult novel and published it without his name on it, in the same years he was turning out the Oz books. This edition is bound with 58 plates of painting from 1820 to 1927, among them works by David Roberts, Lawrence Alma-Tadema and Santiago Rusiñol i Prats.
