The Boer War had transitioned from a popular jingoistic endeavor to a wretched "toil" with civilian internment camps.The Kopje Garrison: A Story of the Boer War is a famous fiction work by the English writer George Manville Fenn (1831-1909). He began his career as a teacher in Lincolnshire before becoming a printer, editor, and publisher of several periodicals. From the late nineteenth century until his death in 1909, he wrote a number of successful works.
