This creature matures quickly, and eventually there steps into being a synthetic man -- "The Intelligence Gigantic." His intellectuality and his occult powers are impressive, but are backed by no humanity, no thought of the happiness of mankind. He has the desire and the power to control the whole world of humanity and to operate the life of the world on principles of arid mechanism and absolute slavery... Presenting John Russell Fearn's classic debut novel, together with an early novelette "Climatica," both of which introduced new concepts to science fiction, including superhuman intelligence and weather control! John Russell Fearn (1908-1960) is noted for such grandly extravagant science fiction as "The Intelligence Gigantic," "The Liners of Time," "Mathematica," and the Golden Amazon series. He was so popular in his day that one of his pseudonyms became the editor of VARGO STATEN'S SCIENCE FICTION MAGAZINE in the 1950s. His work is noted for its vigor and wild imagination. He has always had a substantial cult following and has been popular in translation around the world.
