Little Richard Thumpson gets angry when his best friend, Tommy Tittlemeyer, plays too rough and breaks Richards favorite truck. The two yell at each other and go home mad. When Richard tells his grandmother, Sweet Momma, about the incident, she shares a way for the little boy to deal with his strong feelings.
Before bedtime, she shows him how to scoop the anger and hurt out of his heart and place it in the hurt box. During the night, angels come and turn the hurt into something beautiful- a love stone. Richard is in awe of his new stone and is eager to apologize to Tommy so they can play together again.
A picture book for children, The Hurt Box shares a special story to help youngsters heal wounds in their heart. It communicates the message that love changes everything.
