A novel inspired by a true story. Thomas "Tommy" Holmes was a Canadian soldier in the First World War who overcame unimaginable obstacles to become the youngest Victoria Cross recipient in history. A story told from different perspectives, The Ghost of Vimy Ridge explores not only who Tommy was as a person, but also Canada's tribulations over the course of five years and how World War I deeply affected our nation. From the civil unrest of the suffragette movement to the insufferable psychological damage the brave and women endured for the price of peace, and the addiction that followed. Whether you use words to heal, to seek truth from the past, or just a proud patriot who appreciates the sacrifice humanity makes for the price of freedom. This story was written for you.
