The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900), The Marvelous Land of Oz (1904) and Ozma of Oz (1907), the books in which Baum built the country before it became a franchise. Dorothy's first journey along the yellow brick road; the boy Tip, the Scarecrow's reign and the army of girls; and Dorothy's return by way of a shipwreck, the Nome King and the Deadly Desert. Baum had meant to stop after the first; his readers would not let him. Its 352 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
