What if something precious vanished from the world...
and almost no one remembered it had ever existed?
Sherri and her friends are ordinary teenagers growing up on Australia's Gold Coast - near the surf, near suburban backyards, and unknowingly near a fracture in reality itself.
Dogs have disappeared.
Ancient bells, silent for millennia, are beginning to ring again.
And something old, intelligent, and utterly cruel is moving through the cracks of space and time, intent on reshaping humanity.
Drawn into a hidden conflict spanning timelines and cultures, the kids are guided by unlikely allies: a rogue physicist, a reclusive genius at CERN, a remarkable Border Collie, and a clandestine network of scientists known only as Orange Sand. Together, they uncover a truth that has been stolen from humanity - and discover that love, loyalty, and memory may be the only forces powerful enough to fight back.
From suburban cul-de-sacs to ancient worlds, The First Pat is a sweeping, heartfelt science-fiction adventure about friendship, loss, courage, and the profound bond between humans and dogs.
It is a story where love becomes resistance, memory becomes power, and the universe itself begins to heal - one brave choice at a time.
