DET has a new case, and it starts with something everyone already thinks they understand: things fall down. He's dropped eleven things and gotten eleven identical answers. Easy, right? Almost too easy-which is exactly the kind of thing that makes DET suspicious. With CW watching from the branch above (and never, ever explaining anything out loud), DET chases the mystery from a stubborn plant on the windowsill, to a race between a feather and a stone, to old grainy footage of an astronaut standing on the Moon. Along the way he learns that some things are real just because people agreed to them-and some things don't care what anyone believes at all. By the end, DET thinks he's cracked it. He's even got a name for the answer. But CW isn't done looking. And the second DET writes that name down, he realizes the case he just closed was never really about the falling at all. Observe. Investigate. Discover-together.
