Book 8: The Crystal Centipede - Having finally defeated the Kraken, Grasshopper and Mouse travel to Hare's castle. Once there, they learn that a crystal centipede is chewing away at the bedrock of the castle's foundation. To stop the centipede, the friends race to light ten torches, deep in the catacombs, to scare him back into the pit.
