This work is set during the time of Napoleon and tells the story of a sergeant in the Old Guard who, after sharing his supper with Napoleon, was told by the emperor to sup with his Emperor when they returned to Versailles. The old sergeant appeared at Versailles and demanded entry to the emperor, saying that he had been asked to supper. Will Napoleon recognize him and share another supper?
