Could a precious jewel steeped in ancient mythology really hold the key to a string of gruesome murders? Or, were the mutilated bodies simply the work of a twisted psychopath with a fetish for ritualistic killing?
How much should Detective 'Seven' Bushard believe the beautiful Gia Moon, a psychic who claims her visions hold the clues not only to the murderer, but also to the next victim. Bushard was damned if he knew. The possibilities taunted him as he searched for hard evidence, the usual tools of his trade. Sure, the clues were obscure: a leading historian had identified the tiny bead stuffed in the first victim's mouth as one of the greatest treasures the world had to offer, possessing powers linked to the dawn of time. Then there were the bloody hieroglyphics daubed on the walls, messages on other 'gifts' left with the bodies, disfigured, macabre, their eyes gouged out. Regardless, Bushhard felt the clues must add up to something. After all, according to police and government records Gia didn't even exist ...
And then, there was the link from the victims, all female from a tightly knit community, to David Gospel, prominent businessman, pillar of society. But, as Gospel knew better than anyone, where there are forces of good and evil at work things are not always as they seem, and that which is invisible is always the most dangerous...
A tightly woven tale of greed, obsession, mythology and supernatural forces that will have you on the edge of your seat
