About

The Chief Witness, first published in 1940, features detective Roger Bennion in a classic "golden-age" British mystery by Herbert Adams (1874-1958). The story centers on two brothers who appeared to have committed suicide-at the same moment-even though they were living miles apart. Investigation by the police soon reveals that the deaths were not suicide but a case of murder. Adams wrote more than 50 mysteries during his long career.
