About
EIGHTH CENTURY ADIn the Highlands of Scotland, the Maldorians, a mysterious people of mist and whispers, live together with a Pictish clan until Vikings descend upon them with sudden fury. Scattered in defeat, will their remnants ever be reunited? Will those taken as slaves by the Northmen ever regain freedom and find their way back home? Finding each other will be like finding a golden blade of grass in an autumnal vale. Can Aradan survive among his enemies without breaking his promise to Erlina? Will he ever be free to seek out his beloved? NOWMore than a thousand years later, lives and fates are brought to light by a team of archaeologists. The more they discover, the more perplexing the finds become. The core understanding of what it means to be human is challenged, along with the assumptions that myths are groundless and history is fact. As the team digs deeper, their findings become more mysterious, while strange occurrences on the excavation site threaten to unravel their resolve. And once the souterrain's hidden tunnel is discovered, can their minds accept what the evidence is telling them? Will the Wolf thwart the Cardinal again? What is the mystery behind Elbal and his sons, and how does it all fit together? That we are not alone in the universe is one thing; that we are not alone on Earth is another thing entirely.
