When a famous bridge is scheduled to be torn down and replaced, people from all over gather to honor the beloved landmark. But to one woman, once a little girl, it's more than just a bridge. It's a friendly face and comforting structure she grew up caring about. When the busy bridge came down, she said farewell to her old friend before it got the break it deserved.
The Busy Bridge is a poetic book that shows the history of a bridge that outlasted its predicted life span, carried more weight than it was designed to, and even claimed the fame of being the longest bridge in the state. Though a new bridge with a new name took its place, it will always be referred to as the Tappan Zee Bridge.
