When a seemingly undefeatable primordial being, The Arcane, takes over the better part of a planet, its inhabitants-elves-seek refuge underground in small kingdoms called Bunkers. When the trouble-maker son of the Queen of Bunker 9 is far too fascinated with the life above, on the surface, where The Arcane dwells, his parents introduce him to a guide, who is an expert on the surface, since she has spent her whole life surviving its horrors, and send him off on a mission with her and his best friend to retrieve a set of ancient scrolls.
