Fitzwilliam Darcy received the surprise of a lifetime on his 28th birthday… After a lifetime of assuming that Pemberley belonged to him without any limitations, a solicitor arrives on his birthday with terrible news: Darcy must marry before he turns thirty-years-of-age, or he will forfeit all rights to his inheritance and income. Following the death of Anne de Bourgh, the gentleman did not concern himself much with marriage. Now, however, he is in need of a bride and he needs one in a hurry. The answer to all of Darcy's problems arrives in the form of Elizabeth Bennet, a young woman in need of a husband and an escape. They agree to wed, but quickly discover their temperaments may not be suited to marriage.
