The Abstract Valley

Tiny snowflakes floated in the frozen air, before gently landing on the tiled roofs or the unusually green yards of the suburban street where Alfred and Nicole had materialised.
A tone of surprise was apparent in Alfred's voice, yet another, stronger feeling, peered through the cracking of his speech. He didn't want to do this alone. He... He was afraid.
