Al Capone wasn't a terrible criminal just because he was a murderer, ran a crime family, and had to do with drugs and gambling. The scariest thing about Al Capone was the inability of the police to capture him! In this book, readers meet Al Capone and find out about his notorious crimes in addition to nine other terrible criminals! Fact boxes and historical images complement the main text, written especially with elementary readers in mind. The high-interest content supports reader engagement and knowledge building, both components of the science of reading.
