Starina Kwan trusted her gut and tried not to follow the rules, which made her one of the best Musa Armis agents. A transfer to a new, secret division leads to the discovery that magic transcends time and space, and it gives her an opportunity to finally catch the criminal that's eluded her for the past few years. But, the web of time and crime is tangled, and her travels reveal that her quarry has ties to hate groups, including the one which killed her mother and is working to create a most dangerous future. With her partner incapacitated, Starina has to go alone through time where nothing is as it seems and if she fails, she risks not just her entire agency, but also her life. Author's note: The book was previously released under another pen name. It has been edited and the ending slightly changed. Readers need to know this book involves discussions of hate crimes and groups as well as discussions of dementia/dementia care giving. All books within the Musimagium world can stand alone, but characters do show up in other books.
