A dead influencer. A cold case killer. A detective spiraling into darkness.
When social media star Todd Summers is found strangled to death in his luxury apartment, Detective Chief Inspector Carter discovers the victim was about to drop an explosive exposé-one that promised to finally solve the Beach Gay Eight murders, a series of brutal killings that terrorized Melbourne's gay community in the 1990s. But someone didn't want those secrets revealed.
As Carter digs into Todd's investigation, the lines blur between past and present. The original detective on the Beach Gay Eight case is broken, disgraced, and destroyed by his obsession. Now Carter races to catch a killer-one who's been hiding for decades, and one who's just getting started. The deeper Carter goes, the more his own life unravels. Fresh off a brutal breakup and drowning in alcohol, he's one bad decision away from becoming the cautionary tale he's investigating.
In Melbourne's dark laneways and glittering high-rises, where influencer culture meets cold-blooded murder, Carter will discover that the deadliest content is the truth.
Streaming Blood is the explosive second novel in the DCI Carter series.
