In the final chapter of the Freeman Files, the cost of justice is greater than ever.
On the cusp of retirement, DS Mercer faces a case that refuses to stay buried: a trail of strangled women, their murders linked along the M4 corridor since 1998. The victims-women in their late thirties and early forties-share a grim pattern, and the killer may be closer than anyone imagined. Could one of their own from the infamous Lime Kiln police station hold the key?
Mercer calls in Gus Freeman and his Crime Review Team for a covert investigation, navigating layers of deception guarded by the "blue wall." As Gus uncovers shocking truths and connections to a secretive brotherhood, his own life is put on the line. With Urchfont preparing for festive cheer, a dark conspiracy threatens to destroy everything Gus has worked for.
Still Standing is the gripping finale of The Freeman Files series, blending mystery, intrigue, and the resilience of a team that refuses to back down.
