About

This book is meant to offer hope for freedom found in recovery. Freedom to break the chains of bondage and opportunity to reflect upon what got us in these positions to begin with. Potential windows opening various levels to better understand and dissect life situations while applying the concept that anything LEARNED, can be unlearned, and any wound inflicted can be FORGIVEN (even if it was against ourselves.) But most of all knowing Jesus is always with us. He cries with us, laughs with us, even and at us sometimes. I see Him often shaking his head in wonderment at our choices, yet has NEVER given up on us. His hand is always extended to pull us up again and turns us around to see the steps we've missed. Always walking with us time and time again so we can move forward. His desire is for us to recover and live life in fullness of the freedom only He can offer us. Recovery is NOT just for drugs and alcohol, but ANYTHING interfering with a healthy walk in life and/or with God, ourselves, or family leads to a path of destruction. Discovering and understanding I originally turned to certain behaviors for survival modes just to cope, and although once did, eventually these methods of coping took over and became toxic unhealthy patterns, thus becoming addictive behaviors or lifestyles. These behaviors didn't just destroy myself, but everyone and all relationships around me. Learning to apply the tools the 12 step programs offer continue to help me find healthier ways to respond to my wounds and recovery as each area of healing is revealed in God's perfect timing. Recovery will always be an ongoing process for me, the never ending lesson I suppose. Life is a lesson to be celebrated, but if we stay stuck in our comfort zones or the old familiar, safe, toxic patterns, it begins to feel like quick sand sucking us under with no way out. I pray this book helps you find the tools and strength in Christ to break the strongholds of every hurt, habit, and hang-up so your victory will not only bring Praise to the Lord, but be the example before generations following you to say "if they did it, I can too!" That is the Power of Jesus in your Recovery. ARE YOU READY TO TAKE A STEP UP AND INTO RECOVERY?
