Humor, tension, surprises, romance, tragedy, success and failure take the reader through the fast-paced adult novel of Stealing Watermelons. The main characters start out in Upper Midwest small towns in 1954. The story continues through the turbulent 1960s. Will Bjorn succeed after dropping out of school? Can the nerdy Pope find popularity and a mate? Will early fatherhood sideline Shu? Ozzie is the jock and skirt chaser; what or who will he catch? The story takes place on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific and in several states. Readers will find themselves rooting for the men and women as they mature and take risks in relationships, business, and politics.
